More Info about the interim evaluation
Successful interim evaluation
On April 16, 2025, the READY team, supported by Christian Stegmann and Iris Wilhelm, presented the project successes and plans for the second funding period to the expert panel headed by Helmholtz President Prof. Wiestler.
The successful evaluation ensures continued funding as part of the Helmholtz funding initiative recruitment processes that are sensitive to diversity. We are looking forward to the second project phase and would like to thank everyone who has accompanied and supported READY so far!

Results Report
The diversity survey has been completed. We would like to thank all participants for the high participation rate of around 45%, which corresponds to 1337 employees.
This provides us with a very good empirical database, on the basis of which we can derive measures to further reduce discrimination at DESY and promote diversity and inclusion.
The detailed results report in English and German will soon be published on the PE website. We will send out a DESY-wide e-mail with all the information and the link to the download.

Diversity Day on May, 28
On May 28, 2024, we celebrated Diversity Day. The focus was on the results of the 2023/24 diversity survey at DESY.
To draw attention to the results, we developed a results comic from the DESY particle zoo that creatively reflects the main results. This was distributed in the canteen with the invitation to the presentation of the results in the lecture hall on the day before Diversity Day. Around 300 employees took part in the lecture hall and via Zoom. The survey results were presented by Rauh Research Management, who conducted and analyzed the survey anonymously. Employees were then able to enter into a dialog with the entire Board of Directors on how to deal with the results and the resulting measures. We would like to thank all participants for a successful and interesting day!
